The problem with being a computer sciencce major
is that your computer is both the most necessary tool to do your work with, and the biggest source of distraction.
I can attest to this. So… damn… distracting…

I went into some research of how much my PC cost me in total, then looked at how much it would have cost to build it.
How much my PC cost:
PC Unit: £500
Graphics Adapter: £125Final price: £615
How much my PC would cost if i built it myself:
PC Case: £35
Motherboard: £150
Graphics card: £125
Power Unit: £50
PCU/Core: £100Total cost: £460
I’ve done extensive research on the subject, and the bottom line has always been that you don’t get more for your money by building it yourself, you just get more of what you want out of your money. I recently made my own computer purchase, and ultimately went with building my own because I was able to get the exact parts that I wanted and skimp on others that I knew were less important and that I could upgrade later.
One of the big things you haven’t factored into your set is the OS, which easily costs as much or more than a major hardware component. So factoring in the hard drive and OS, your “custom build” version will actually cost roughly the same as the prebuilt version.
The real difference comes into play when you have situations where you pay for some excellent parts and sacrifice quality for price on others. In a premade computer, all the parts will be of relatively comparable quality/price when compared to each other, while when building your own machine you can have an top of the line graphics card and processor while cutting cost on the RAM, PSU, case, and hard drive to form a reasonable deal. And of course, if you have a copy of your OS of choice and a liscence to go with it waiting for you already, then you’ll save the money it would cost to buy it with your premade computer.
tl;dr: building your own computer isn’t cheaper, it just lets you choose what you want to pay for.

I was pretty depressed about the situation, but we have to act, now.
Don’t direct any anger at Hasbro or Studio B, they aren’t to blame for the recent happenings, here. Studio B was only giving a gift to the fanbase, and in our eyes, I don’t think they could intentionally do wrong. Hasbro had to respond to the potential ethical issues they may face. They are protective of their image and their impact on families. From an ethical standpoint, I would have been inclined to make the same sad decision. They are only trying to do what they feel is best.
This anger that we have is only going to ruin us and tear us apart. The answer is not to direct anger or aggression at any minority of bronies or whatever. The answer is a sudden, unexpected TIDAL WAVE OF LOVE.
That’s right. We’re gonna go on a super epic brony appreciation crusade. First we will love the developers, the composers, the animators, the voice actors, and the people who work with the show in general. Then we’re gonna turn our love towards the fandom. We’re going to love the artists, the musicians, the writers, the video editors, we’re gonna make a difference by suddenly turning what appears to be an unappreciative community into a surging blast of love.

It’s not their fault, it was the fault of those offended who made this a big deal. Hasbro was just doing what they were cornered into doing. I’m sure it felt shitty to them to have to change her.
I also approve of this. Damnit, I feel so conflicted. But moral outrage or no, this fandom has taught me to do better, and so I shall.
